A bit about who we’re after

Are you a super-talented Design Director with a passion for pixel perfection and a commitment to craft excellence that has your mother worried? Then you could be exactly the kind of Design Director Waste London is looking for. We need someone to lead our excellent design team and help them deliver eye-poppingly beautiful creative work across all our clients.

You’ll need a design background, needless to say, but experience with content creation is also a must – the majority of the work you’ll be involved in will be content related (social and blog). You’ll be thoughtful, with a great knowledge of what is achievable on existing and emerging digital formats and platforms.

Waste is an 11-year-old creative agency filled with digital natives and analog enthusiasts who combine to make beautiful bits and bytes. Like every 11-year-old, we’re a little cheeky, brimming with a certain kind of twisted genius, and we care deeply about the things we love. In the main, that’s smart, expertly crafted digital content created at the speed of social.

We have offices in London and Los Angeles, and good friends in Finland, San Francisco, South Africa, Houston, Kosovo and New Zealand because we’re international like that.

Key Requirements:

  • You’re a confident, visionary leader with the ability to inspire a talented team of designers.
  • You have a thorough understanding of traditional design principles, from typography to grids and photography.
  • You need to be a fantastic digital designer with a portfolio showing best-in-class work across UI, social/web content and other digital touchpoints.
  • You don’t need to be an animator however a good understanding of motion graphics is a must.
  • You’re creative, bold and original. You’re constantly asking questions, pushing boundaries and are able to inspire the team to deliver exceptionally well crafted work. Innovative creative solutions come naturally to you and you’re able to articulate your ideas and vision.
  • You have a pixel-perfect attention to detail.
  • You have 6+ years agency experience.
